A family-owned and independently run camp that stretches under the shade of a Winterthorn grove, above the Zambezi floodplain. A gateway to endless discovery, Anabezi is a stunning slice of safari sophistication. We offer access to the wild and expansive Lower Zambezi National Park, stretched out in a spectacular display of scenery from the doorstep of our luxury tented camps.
Our proximity to the Zambezi River and position within the National Park lends itself to unparalleled wildlife encounters. A game drive will reveal a kaleidoscope of African animals, flourishing in their natural environment. An evening expedition may reveal one of our resident leopards, while on a morning drive you will almost certainly bump into a herd of elephant and may see local pride of lions or endangered wild dogs on an early morning hunting foray. Slow afternoons casting the Zambezi River for the legendary tiger fish will captivate fishing enthusiasts, while a leisurely paddle in a canoe down one of the river channels will reveal distant hippo, waterbuck or a formidable gathering of buffalo.
Whether you prefer a walk through the ethereal atmosphere of the Winterthorn forest or a sundowner overlooking the Zambezi flooded in hazy afternoon light, we will make you fall in love with Africa.
About The Lower Zambezi National Park
Come to a place where animals roam the unfenced safari camps, where Africa’s most unspoilt nature stretches out in front of you, where traces of people are hard to find and where nighttime is about sitting under an incredibly black sky, dotted with countless stars. Welcome to Zambia's Lower Zambezi National Park.
It is the draw-card of Lower Zambezi: the remoteness of this eastern part of Zambia. The Lower Zambezi National Park, founded in 1983, covers an area of 4,092 square kilometres along the northwestern bank of the Zambezi River. Step onboard on a boat or drift silently past the riverbank in a canoe for the best wildlife viewing, since most wildlife is concentrated around the Lower Zambezi Valley and the river. Elephant herds, sometimes up to one hundred strong, hippo, leopard, lion, buffalo, over 400 bird species – they all gather in this mesmerizing wilderness.
Lower Zambezi has a wide range of accommodation options, so start browsing our list of Lower Zambezi safari lodges. You might have some trouble choosing between all these beautiful destinations but just remember: stunning views, excellent bush cuisine and warm hospitality are the standards in Zambia, so you will find that everywhere.
