The main area is tranquil and features a secluded lounge with a fireplace for those chilly evenings. The second lounge and dining area flows out onto the patio, where you will find a braai, dining table, and seating area under the awning.
This lodge is quaint and intimate as it only has 4 rooms. Located about 5 - 6 hours outside of Cape Town in the Great Karoo, Roam is the ideal wilderness destination for those seeking to explore the famous tourist route called “Route 62” and combine it with nature and big-game experience. Roam Private Game Reserve is located on 5000 hectares within the Great Karoo. This rich and ancient semi-desert landscape is home to a variety of species. The focus at this reserve is eco-tourism and providing guests with a unique experience in the remote wilderness of the Karoo. There are several conservation initiatives that focus on rewilding the Great Karoo. With the experience of knowledgeable guides, each visit is a once in a lifetime adventure.
The Great Karoo is a geological and archaeological marvel with over a million years’ worth of human history, such as evidence of Stone Age tools found in certain sub-regions. Archaeologists and Palaeontologists find this magnificent area as one of the oldest Stone Age sites in Africa. The Karoo hosts a unique biome home to fauna and flora that have had to adapt and survive harsh desert conditions.
