Sava Dunes

Sava Dunes is perfectly located on a remote part of the Inhambane coast in Mozambique. Previously known as Blue Footprints, this stunning property boasts spectacular views of the coastline. Small and intimate with only 5 ocean-facing suites guests are treated to an elevated paradise. The land is completely covered with fresh vegetation and sand dunes. From each corner, guests can enjoy unsurpassed views of the beach, ocean and endless horizon. As you lay within the confines of your room you’ll hear the waves from the ocean. Each morning guests awaken to the sound of rolling breakers crashing onto the beach!

The main lodge are is connected with wooden walkways that lead to each of the suites. The main walkway leads over the dunes and down to the beach. Enjoy morning walks on the beach, explore tropical seas during the heat of the day and relax in the lodge swimming pool in the evening. There's even a great swim-up bar in the main part of the lodge - also with sea views! Glide through the pool, grab your pinacoloda and enjoy the views.

In season, whales regularly visit the shores in front of the lodge. Guests can hear them from their private balconies. Sava Dunes is a luxurious eco-friendly lodge in a quiet and remote area. The lodge can arrange several activities including marine safaris, ocean adventures and shopping trips to the local markets.
The location is quite a bit north of the small village of Tofo (roughly 5.5 km ) and close to the south of Barra beach (1.5 km).

About Mozambique

Geographically, Mozambique covers an area of over 800,000 sq. km, three times the size of Great Britain. Situated to the south east of the African continent, it shares borders with six other countries, Tanzania, Malawi and Zambia to the north, Zimbabwe to the west, South Africa and Swaziland to the south. The 2,500 km long coastline boasts numerous superb beaches fringed by lagoons, coral reefs and strings of small islands.

The Geography of Mozambique apprises a vast, low, grassland plateau which rises from the coast towards the mountains in the north and west covers nearly half the country's land area. The population is concentrated along the coast and the fertile river valleys. The Zambezi is the largest of the country's 25 rivers. Mozambique is rich in mineral resources such as gold, emeralds, copper, iron ore and bauxite and is currently engaged in oil exploration.
