Beyond the natural beauty of the estate’s fauna and flora, the most awe-inspiring element of Sandcastle Luxury Villa is the architectural character of the property. The Sandcastle Luxury Villa was designed to imitate the land and boundless seascape; it holds the same innate, organic charisma. The estate’s turrets, reaching through and beyond the double-volume ceilings, invoke a surreal reflection of a termite mound, or a loosely-formed sandcastle.
Sandcastle offers a fully catered experience for 8 guests. This is the ultimate luxury getaway that allows you to enjoy the best of Eastern Cape holidays. The main villa offers 4 king-size bedrooms each with an en-suite and spectacular ocean view. The property is also home to a cottage with 2 king-size beds and a shared bathroom. Three of the bedrooms can be arranged as either 2 three-quarter beds or 1 emperor size bed, depending on the desired requirements. The lodge can accommodate a maximum of 12 guests. Enquire with your Travel Specialist for special rates for more than 8 guests.
Aptly described as ‘African Adobe,’ the interior of the villa has been influenced by a myriad of cultures throughout Africa and South America. Thoughtfully-selected artifacts, tapestries and locally-crafted artworks hang on the property’s undulating walls, while the sunken fireside conversation pit speaks of a bygone time. The 250 hectare land surrounding the villa is a wildlife conservancy, teaming with zebra, giraffe, sable and antelope indigenous to the area. The reserve is also home to smaller mammals, such as the Cape Yellow mongoose, civet and genet.
The Villa is located 75 kilometers From East London and 200 kilometers from Port Elizabeth in a malaria free area of the country. Encompassed by 2 kilometers of largely untouched beachfront, it is the ideal landscape for windswept walks, ocean dips and bush hikes. For those seeking adventure from their stay, Sandcastle offers a length of activities such as game viewing, hiking, surfing, angling, kayaking and mussel picking.
Whether you're in the mood for an informal seaside escape, an encounter with the "Big Five" on safari, or a choice of scintillating city diversions, you're sure to find what you're looking for in the Eastern Cape. Alternating between sweeping sand, river mouths, rocks and covers, the coastline is a paradise for water sports enthusiasts. Among them, surfers ride the perfect waves, anglers reel in king-size catches, and board sailors revel in the challenge of the wind. Sunshine all year round, fine leisure resorts and splendid facilities ensure that the great outdoors is always in style.
When pleasures of a more sophisticated kind appeal, you'll find plenty to entertain you in Port Elizabeth and East London. Both are ideal for family holidays, large enough to offer all the amenities of a city, yet small enough to be genuinely welcoming and friendly. They also provide convenient access to unspoiled areas of exceptional natural beauty.
Superbly set on the shores of Algoa Bay, "The Friendly City" is the fifth biggest city in South Africa and the largest on the coast between Cape Town and Durban. A popular leisure resort, the City of Port Elizabeth beckons with an attractive atmosphere of year-round holiday fun against a backdrop of urban activity.
