Tintswalo Family Camp is thus strategically positioned to offer an exclusive and unique private multi-generational aspirational family safari experience.
‘’ The things a child learns between the ages of 5 and 15 will have a direct impact on his / her character & the decision-making skills they will possess as an adult ‘’
Tintswalo Family Camp is located in the Welgevonden Game Reserve, Limpopo Province, South Africa. The Welgevonden Game Reserve comprises some 40,000 hectares of pristine bushveld and ranks amongst Southern Africa’s largest private game reserves and forms part of the only savanna biosphere reserve in the world, proclaimed by UNESCO in March 2001. It has the greatest variety of plains game, is home to South Africa’s ‘’ Big Five ’’ and is malaria free. The Welgevonden Game Reserve is pioneering in its conservation initiatives and thus it is important that its conservation ethos also forms an integral part of a multi-generational family experience.
Tintswalo Family Camp provides stunning views over the Welgevonden Game Reserve and is fully secured with an electrified fence to provide security from predators and big game.
The Camp also caters for specific Travel Groups requiring the use of an exclusive and private venue. Additional family members or guests can be accommodated on special request.
The Welgevonden Game Reserve, located just three hours’ north of Johannesburg in the Limpopo Province’s Waterberg plateau, is one of the most ruggedly scenic reserves in South Africa, characterised by rolling hills, rugged gorges and grassy plains.
Aptly meaning ‘well found’, the Welgevonden is unlike anywhere else on earth, a true wilderness area with excellent game viewing and stunning scenery. Enjoy this mountain bushveld environment with roaring rivers and sweeping horizon views. The reserve is located at high altitude, enjoys a mild climate and is Malaria free making it worth a visit any time of the year.
As a result of the reserve’s diverse landscapes, visitors can enjoy Big Five sightings, in addition to encounters with over 50 mammal species, 250 bird species and some of the bush’s most beautiful wildflowers that make their appearance in early spring.
The Welgevonden also boasts one of Africa’s largest populations of white rhino on a private reserve, with such unusual species as brown hyena, aardwolf and aardvark also located within the reserve. The reserve has never been a hunting area and as such game viewing is up and close and personal. In addition to great game viewing, there is also ancient San Rock Art.
This is Africa at its most interesting and at its best.
