Kwara Camp is set overlooking a secluded lagoon in the northern Okavango Delta providing an exclusive Delta experience. The location allows access to the permanent waterways of the Delta as well as expansive dry land areas, admired for their quality game viewing.
Located in a private concession with a wide variety of land and water activities guests are treated to a unique Delta adventure. In addition to day and night game drives, the camp offers mekoro trips, as well as seasonal fishing. Boat trips are on a double-decker boat that visits the Godikwe Lagoon in the waters of the Moremi Game Reserve, which is known for the abundant varieties of birdlife especially during nesting season.
Set on a beautiful lagoon, Kwara camp pays homage to the authentic African style that Kwando Safaris is known for. The accommodation offering boasts 9 spacious tents. Guests are offered their own private deck that overlooks the lagoon. Each tent boasts an en-suite bathroom with an indoor shower and a well-appointed outdoor shower with a gorgeous bath. Think of it as luxury in the bush, there is no better way to describe it. Each room has a ceiling fan to help with the heat and light mosquito nets around the beds.
The main area is located in the centre of the camp and boasts a large dining area, lounge and curio shop. Take a break from the heat by taking a dip in one of the two small pool areas or simply relax at the poolside with a refreshing drink. Each poolside has a small bar and pool loungers for guests to enjoy the afternoon siesta period.
Similar to all other Kwando Properties, guests can escape the digital world for a few days. The lodge does not have Wi-Fi or cellphone signal allowing guests to embrace the natural setting around them. All activities are conducted with a professional guide and tracker. For a private experience, the camp only permits 4 guests on game drive vehicles offering a clear window seat to some of the best game viewing in Africa.
The Kwara Private Reserve spans an area of 175 000 ha (432 000 acres). The concession shares a 30km water boundary with the famous Moremi Game Reserve and its unique location boasts both permanent water and seasonal flood plains as well as extensive dry bush wilderness.
Favoured by labyrinths of permanent water channels and secret islands this area offers the perfect delta experience and is considered to be among the best in Botswana for game viewing and activities. Kwara is known for its consistent sightings of predators, including lion, cheetah, leopard and on rare occasions – white rhino! Herds of elephants also frequent the area, as well as giraffe, zebra, sitatunga, lechwe, impala and hippos.
