7 night Highlight Tour of Uganda - Premier Package

Day 1

On arrival at Entebbe International Airport in Uganda and after finalising the formalities, you will be welcomed by your guide, who will then drive you to No.5 Boutique Hotel (10 minutes from the airport).

All arriving guests are to present negative PCR test results taken within 72 hours before arrival. Upon arrival, all guests are to take a mandatory PCR test and this is applied and paid for online.

Day 2

After breakfast you will drive to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Here you shall have a walking Safari to the Southern White Rhinos that have been re-introduced in Uganda.

In the afternoon you will drive to the legendary Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s biggest National Park. Time allowing, you will visit the top of falls. You will then check into Nile Safari Lodge.

Day 3

After an early breakfast, you will choose to go for an optional hot air balloon Safari, you will be transported to the takeoff position, and enjoy taking photos as you watch the balloon inflation process. You will then be briefed on safety regulations by the pilot and start flying around 6:00 am right before sunrise. The Balloon ride lasts for about an hour after which the balloon lands and you will receive your participation certificates. On the way back a mini safari tour is provided depending on the landing position. The trip ends at about 8:00 am. Thereafter you will proceed for a game drive in the park for a game drive.

This is a beautiful drive across savannah, Borassus Palm Forest and grassland down to Lake Albert where the Albert Nile heads north. Drive in the open African savanna in search for Lions, Leopard, Hyena, Buffalo, Elephant, Jackson Hartebeest. Oribi, Waterbucks, Uganda Kobs, and enjoy spotting various Bird species such as the Secretary Bird, Black Chested Snake Eagle, Tawny and Marshal Eagles Carmine and Swallow-Tailed Bee-Eaters, and many more. In the afternoon, go for a boat ride up the Nile, to Murchison falls, whence the park derives its name. Enjoy these spectacular falls where the Nile squeezes through a 7-meter gap and at the bottom you will see Huge Nile Crocodiles bask

Day 4

After an early breakfast you will drive to Fort Portal to Kibale National Park. It is one of the best safari destinations in Africa for chimpanzee trekking safaris and has the highest number and diversity of primates in East Africa. There are 13 species of primates including chimpanzees living within its 795km2 land cover with the most beautiful and most diversified tracts of tropical forest in the whole of Uganda. The Forest covering predominates in the central and northern part of the park on the raised Fort Portal plateau. At the park’s northern tip, Kibale is highest and stands 1590m above sea level Along the way you will pass many tea plantations. On the way you stop in Fort Portal. In the afternoon you will arrive at your accommodation.

Day 5

Today you will track the most famous inhabitants of Kibale National Park, the chimpanzees.

With over 1,450 individuals protected within the park, Kibale forest is home to the largest number of the endangered chimpanzees in Uganda, as well as the threatened red colobus monkey and the rare L’Hoest’s monkey. The forest has one of the highest diversity and density of primates in Africa totaling 13 species including the black and white colobus, blue monkey and grey-cheeked mangabey, red tailed monkey, bush babies and pottos. In the afternoon after tracking, you have the option of going for a guided walk through the swamps of Bigodi. Or choose to relax at your accommodation or community walk in a village nearby. Alternatively, you can visit a school in the local community, talk to the students and teachers and participate in the lessons.

Day 6

Depart for Bwindi National Park in the morning, to the home of the Mountain Gorillas. Bwindi National Park is one of Uganda’s Forested Parks, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is best known for gorilla tracking, but it also provides refuge to elephants, chimpanzees, monkeys and various small antelopes, as well as 23 bird species restricted to the Albertine.

You will be staying at Bwindi Lodge for the next 2 nights.

It is approximately a 7 hour drive from Kibale to Bwindi National Park

Day 7

This morning you will get up very early for gorilla trekking (yay)!

Trekking the Mountain Gorilla is one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth. The trek will take between 2 and 6 hours, but is well worth the effort. You will be led by an experienced ranger who will tell you interesting facts about flora and fauna and the lifestyle of the Gorillas.

In the afternoon depending on the time, you return from the trek, you may choose to visit the Batwa or Ride for women projects (which we highly recommend).

The Batwa are the oldest inhabitants of the Great Lakes region of Central Africa. Like most of the tribes in Africa, they have moved from place to place and are now found in Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda and eastern portions of the DRC. The first records of the Batwa are dated over 4,000 years ago by the Egyptians. They described them as short statured people living near the "Mountains of the Moon". You will get to learn more about their history, cultural beliefs and Norms, and their way of life as hunters and gatherers.

Day 8

After breakfast, you will fly back to Entebbe enjoying the beautiful aerial view of south western Uganda, the hills and thick vegetation as well as the farming practiced by the locals.

Afterwards you will arrive at the Airport and catch your flight back home.
