Zannier Hotels Sonop

The Sonop camp is constructed on top of granite boulders within a remote and unspoilt setting of 5,600 hectares. It is an untouched wilderness that includes sightings of desert animals, from Oryx, Brown Hyenas, Rabbits, Bat-eared Foxes, Meerkats, Jackals and Leopards.

The 10 spacious luxury tents feature carefully selected items of the olden days such as antique binoculars and maps, travellers’ tales, telescopes, antique desks and handmade stationery. Each item enhances your stay to create a unique experience. From the reception room to the partially-walled bathroom and vintage bathtubs, and private terrace, everything focuses on the richness of the desert and awe-inspiring views.

About the Hardap Region

Hardap is one of the fourteen regions of Namibia, its capital is Mariental. Hardap contains the municipality of Mariental, the towns Rehoboth and Aranos, and the self-governed villages Gibeon, Gochas, Kalkrand, Stampriet and Maltahöhe. It is home to the Hardap Dam. Hardap stretches the entire width of Namibia, from the Atlantic Ocean in the west to Namibia's eastern national border. In the northeast, it borders the Kgalagadi District of Botswana, and in the southeast, it borders the Northern Cape Province of South Africa. Domestically, it borders the following regions: Erongo, Khomas, Omaheke & Karas.
