Your journey begins in Maun with a scenic Mack Air flight to the Khwai Private Reserve, where two nights at Sable Alley introduce you to one of Botswana's most wildlife-rich safari regions. Surrounded by floodplains, open grasslands, woodland and waterways, Khwai is renowned for its exceptional Big Five and predator viewing, with particularly strong opportunities to encounter elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo and African wild dog.
Sable Alley is situated on the edge of a large lagoon within the 200,000-hectare Khwai Private Reserve, creating a spectacular setting for an immersive safari. Days are spent on morning and afternoon game drives, with opportunities for sundowners and seasonal water-based experiences. The reserve's private concession setting allows for a more intimate safari experience, away from the crowds of larger tourism areas.
From Khwai, continue by light aircraft to North Island Okavango, an ultra-exclusive wilderness camp situated on a remote island deep within the Okavango Delta. Khwai Private Reserve covers approximately 200,000 hectares in northeastern Botswana and forms part of the wider Okavango ecosystem.
