La Cotte House is uniquely situated a stone’s throw from the charming village of Franschhoek. It offers close proximity to the fun and bustle of the main street with all the quiet, privacy and rural charm of a working wine farm.
There won’t be any arguments about who should get the room with the view at La Cotte House Private Villa. Wherever you choose to lay your suitcase, you’ll enjoy its 360-degree views of Franschhoek’s vineyard-studded valley and mountains.
Surrounded by lush vineyards, glorious mountains and unsurpassed views in all directions, the house offers a luxurious stately villa that sleeps 16, designed and furnished to the highest levels of comfort, warmth, and charm.
It’s not until you’re relaxing al fresco on the terraces of either the Main House (sleeps 10), Pool House (sleeps 2), or the Lake Cottage (sleeps 4), gazing out over your very own lakeside version of one of Monet’s famous ‘Water Lilies’ paintings, that you’ll fully appreciate the true magic of this unique setting. In prime position, deceptively far from distractions, on one of the oldest Huguenot estates in Franschhoek, this house was built for ultimate privacy. Surrounded by indigenous gardens and natural beauty as far as the eye can see, you’re only a short walk from the town hidden away below.
Facilities at the main house include an open plan living room and kitchen, full kitchen facilities, patio with built-in braai overlooking the vineyards beyond, wood-burning fireplace and a swimming pool. You can either book the Main House individually or with the Pool House and Lake Cottage.
Established over 300 years ago by the Huguenot settlers, pristine natural and architectural brilliance is found at every corner in Franschhoek. The magnificent Franschhoek valley offers world-class wine estates, tastings and cellar tours nestled between towering mountains and beautiful vineyards. The picturesque traditional French village hosts some of the best cuisines from internationally recognised gourmet chefs. Of South Africa’s top ten restaurants, three are in Franschhoek and there is a choice of more than thirty different places to wine and dine. Franschhoek is also celebrated for its unique boutique shopping experience.
