Sussurro is an award-winning barefoot luxury hideaway with fantastic eco-credentials in Southern Mozambique. This stylish, owner-run boutique property is ideal for couples and groups of adults.

Set along the secluded shores of a warm turquoise lagoon in Southern Mozambique, Sussurro is a thoughtfully designed space for you to align with nature and immerse yourself in a more meaningful travel experience. Sussurro’s profound commitment to creating a more conscious African experience is reflected in each design and amenity.

The private bungalows provide over a thousand square feet of personal space surrounded by nature. Each Suite boasts an indoor and outdoor bathing facility and generous waterfront verandahs. Mozambican vernacular architecture weaves a natural canopy above billowing mosquito nets. Large apertures allow the colours of an ever-changing landscape to permeate the space. Rooms are dressed with furniture created and carved onsite and thoughtfully collected artisanal pieces from sub-Saharan Africa.

The residence is situated on the interior of a remote peninsula known as Nhamabue. Access is made by vehicle along the beach or helicopter flight return from Vilanculos International airport. The nearest airstrip for charter flights is the Inhassoro airstrip, flying into Bazaruto.

About the Nhamabue Peninsula

Nhamabue Peninsula juts into the Indian Ocean across from Liasse and in between cradles a warm turquoise lagoon, definitely a place worth watching the sunset from in Mozambique. Add to this that some extreme luxury resorts now perch on the peninsula, like Sussurro’s, you should make a note to catch a sunset when you are ever in the area.
