Perfect for romance or special occasions, each suite features a private deck, minibar, bath, indoor and outdoor showers, air-conditioning, Wi-Fi, and mosquito nets. Located away from the main lodge, the suites ensure tranquillity, with inter-leading options available.
The name Makubela is a tribute to a female leopard seen many times by Idube guests over the years visiting the Sabi Sand Game Reserve. She was fatally mauled by a male and she sought refuge at Idube, where she died. We remember how this beautiful creature added wonder and pleasure to our lives.
Idube Game Reserve now offers 4 Linked Suites, designed for families and groups. Each unit includes two private rooms connected by a shared deck, with a larger plunge pool for both suites. Enjoy all the luxury features of the Safari Suites, including a minibar, coffee and tea station, bath, indoor/outdoor granite shower, air-conditioning, Wi-Fi, mosquito nets, and African-inspired décor. Perfect for family safaris or friends travelling together.
Idube Game Reserve offers guests a wide range of experiences, from romantic dinners for couples to unique group events. The lodge is renowned for its fine dining and features a swing bridge leading to a wildlife hide, perfect for spotting animals up close. Guests can relax in the pools, work out in the gym, or unwind at the Baobab Spa. Idube also boasts a stylish bar with an extensive South African and international wine list, inviting lounges, a gazebo, a cellar, and a bar patio. Evenings can be spent around the firepit, while the curio shop offers memorable keepsakes.
Adjacent to the world-renowned Kruger National Park, the Sabi Sand Game Reserve is famed for its intimate wildlife encounters, particularly leopard viewing. Home to a host of animals, including the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino), the Sabi Sand is part of a conservation area that covers over two million hectares (almost five million acres), an area equivalent to the state of New Jersey.
With no boundary fences between the Sabi Sand and the Kruger National Park, this reserve benefits from the great diversity of animals found in one of the richest wildlife areas on the African continent, along with the additional benefits experienced on a private game reserve.
Game drives traverse an area of 10 500 hectares (26 000 acres) and strict vehicle limits at sightings ensure the exclusivity of the game viewing experience. Sensitive off-road driving ensures that guests have the best possible view of any exceptional sighting and rangers are constantly in touch with each other to keep track of animal movements.
