Babirwa Golf and Bush Lodge is a fully inclusive five-star lodge in the African Bushveld. The lodge specializes in group, exclusive bookings and is ideal for 12 adults sharing but can also accommodate up to 8 children under 12 years. At Babirwa they are super-flexible and will design a personalised, bespoke escape for your group. To make your group’s stay at Babirwa as relaxing as possible, all chef-produced food, snacks and drinks are included in your package. The only items you will have to pay for separately are imported super-premium liquor brands. All experiences include a butler service.

This luxurious lodge consists of three separate units, two Luxury Units and one Presidential Suite. Each of the units have two rooms each. The Luxury Units can accommodate four adults and four children under 12 and have a lounge area, balcony and kitchenette. Each of the rooms in the Luxury Units have an en-suite bathroom with a ball claw bath, outside shower, two basins and a toilet. The Presidential Suite can accommodate 4 adults and hosts the communal boma, dining deck, swimming pool, lounge, private bar and pool table for the use of the whole group. Each of the rooms in the Presidential Suite have an en-suite bathroom with all expected amenities.

Babirwa offers a range of activities. Their private 18-hole golf course is PGA-rated at 72 for an amazing golfing experience in the bushveld, complete with game wandering around the course to keep you company. The new club house features all expected amenities, with a full bar, change rooms, lounge area with a fireplace, dining patio, boma, and outdoor pool. The course is private, so it will only be you and your group playing. The Babirwa Lake is ideal for fishing, bird watching, kayaking and relaxing. Babirwa Golf and Bush Lodge also features two excellent mountain bike trails. The beginner trail uses the golf course as base and allows you to come up close and personal to the game that love to graze in this area. The advanced cycling course will test an experienced mountain biker with steep climbs, valleys, sharp turns and loose gravel.

About Rooiberg

Rooiberg is ideal for visitors to Limpopo that want to stay in a quiet, peaceful town away from the big city. It is situated between Thabazimbi (nestled against the dramatic backdrops of mountain ranges) and Bela-Bela (also known as Warmbaths for its hot springs).

Rooiberg was initially constructed as a mining town but, when the mine was closed down, it was completely deserted. After it ran into a state of total disrepair, a consortium bought it. Soon, it flourished and has become a wonderful choice for families, tourists and honeymooners that want to experience the quieter side of the South African experience.

The town is equipped with a couple of general dealer stores and pubs, as well as a range of cosy accommodation options. These make it an ideal base from which to explore Limpopo and the neighbouring province of Gauteng. Rooiberg is just over two hours from Pretoria and just less than two hours from the Pilanesberg National Park (home to all of the Big Five – elephant, rhino, buffalo, leopard and lion – and a hotspot for the ultimate African safari).
