Magari Safari Villa is a beautiful, boutique villa in the private Palala River Reserve in the heart of the Waterberg wilderness. Magari is in a spectacular position with breath-taking views above a sweeping bend of the Palala River over savanna and woodland to a backdrop of hills. This personal and private lodge is only available for exclusive use bookings and is perfect for small groups, families, celebrations and very romantic safari weddings. Guests experience a safari for the soul, enjoying the relaxation, health and well-being benefits of this remarkable, unique bush villa.
Magari Bush Villa sleeps up to ten guests in five suites. The rooms all have either a king-sized bed or two single beds and an en-suite bathroom with bathrobes and toiletries. Three of the suites have outdoor decks with views of the valley and hills, two have outdoor showers from which the incredible view can be admired, and two are garden suites. Wi-Fi is available in all the rooms. The main lodge at Magari is beautifully appointed and has a boma in which to enjoy sitting around a campfire in the evening, a sunbathing terrace and a swimming pool with spectacular views.
All meals are freshly prepared by the chef using local and seasonal produce from the organic kitchen garden. A wide range of drinks are always available along with wines from quality South African estates. There are a variety of exciting dining venues both at the lodge and in the bush, this may include picnics in the bush, dinner under the stars, lunch on the terrace, and alfresco breakfasts and brunches. Dietary requirements are gladly catered for.
Activities at the lodge include swimming or relaxing by the natural saltwater pool or enjoying a massage either in the privacy of your room or on the secluded deck where all you will hear is the birdsong and the river below.
There is a wide range of activities to suit all ages and interests, including day and night game drives, guided bush walks and camp outs under the stars. Visits to Bushman painting and Iron Age sites are also available on the reserve, as well as massage treatments for those looking for more relaxation. Many guests enjoy the opportunity to keep fit here, including the freedom to go running on the reserve, mountain biking and hiking.
Game Drives are in open 4x4 Land Rovers with highly trained and experienced rangers. Night drives provide the opportunity of seeing nocturnal animals such as leopard, brown hyena, aardvark, civet cats and porcupines. Other activities include bush walks, campouts under the stars and exploring late iron age sites and bushman paintings on the reserve. There is also a wide selection of activities in the surrounding areas that are available.
There is much for children to do and activities can be tailor-made to suit them. These can include guided bush walks, instructions on tracking, bug walks, slide shows and bush games. There is also a free babysitting service, if required. Children's separate mealtimes can be arranged if you choose.
Jembisa lies in the heart of the Unesco world biosphere reserve of the Waterberg. It is a breathtakingly beautiful reserve that encompasses a wide diversity of habitats and biomes including savannah plains, syringa forests, riverine forests, gullies, rock faces, cliffs, flood plains and with 7km of the Palala river meandering through it.
Jembisa and Magari are situated on the privately owned Jembisa Reserve which is 3000ha large.
