Thanda features 15 Luxury Safari Tents, each with either 1 king-sized bed or twin beds, a private sun deck, a minibar and en-suite canvas bathrooms. Jabula means 'Happiness' in isiZulu, and the romantic, private, beautifully spacious Jabula Tent within Thanda Tented Camp is all about happiness. Decorated in sophisticated safari chic, it is ideal for bridal couples, honeymooners, special occasion travellers as well as families wanting to be accommodated under one canvas roof. The Jabula Tent has a king-sized bed and separate lounge, minibar, en-suite bathroom, outdoor shower, bath, splash pool and spectacular views of the reserve.

The shared areas at Thanda include a large rim-flow pool, a spa tent, atmospheric Hemingway-style lounge, boma, curio shop and dining area featuring authentic African artworks. The tented camp is equipped with a generator which will power the luxury tents for a few hours each day.

South African cuisine is as diverse as its population, and Thanda Safari’s menus, creatively conceived by chefs, reflect this. From slow-cooked potjiekos to tender game cuts flavoured with homegrown herbs, our chefs produce perfection for the palate and cater for all dietary requirements. Every meal offers unique Thanda dishes and tastes, combined with carefully chosen wines and impeccable service. Our breakfasts, lunches, dinners and high teas personify the Thanda Safari style. The spa at Thanda is in the setting of a sumptuous safari tent with an open-air deck overlooking the Royal Zulu Mountains where Thanda's wild animals roam. The therapists use a range of non-allergenic aromatherapy and massage oils, herbs and essences for a sensory experience you will never forget. The therapists offer a wide range of treatments, including a combination of western techniques and ancient Zulu holistic practices - learnt from traditional Zulu women.

Game drives in the open game viewing vehicles and bush walks guided by knowledgeable and experienced game rangers and trackers afford guests a better understanding and appreciation of our wild heritage.
