Zarafa Camp features four expansive guest tents that are 1000 square feet. These tents are set on an elevated deck under a floating canvas featuring a Lamu door and boasting a lavish space with subtleties of reds and browns. Enjoy a spacious bedroom that is connected to a full lounge and boasts an open layout bathroom coupled with a claw-foot bath. Along the expansive deck, guests can relish in their private plunge pool and outdoor shower while savouring the magnificent views ahead.
The Zafara Dhow Suite is a two-bedroom tented villa perfectly situated on the 130,000 hectares Selinda Reserve. This villa is perfect for families and is set on a raised deck. The suite can accommodate up to four adults and one child making it an exclusive hideaway for families. Fitted with all the amenities and facilities one may need such as a full en-suite bathroom, private pool and a spacious living area. The Zarafa Dhow Suite is your home away from home.
Perfectly set under a canopy of ebony trees, the camp offers a luxurious main lounge fitted with a library, dining area and bush boutique. Adding to the element of luxury guests can enjoy yoga or workouts in the open-air gym or indulge in an in-room spa treatment. Each part of the camp is perfectly appointed to offer the best experience possible. Zarafa is an environmentally friendly destination featuring recycled hardwood flooring and canvas. The electricity comes from a solar farm and a bio-gas system converts vegetable waste into usable cooking gas.
The ultimate in carefree exploration, the canoes carry everything necessary for a comfortable camp, stopping wherever the fancy takes you to spend the night in a fly camp. Feast on fresh meals eaten around a blazing campfire and slip into peaceful slumber beneath a bright blanket of stars.
Enjoy languid days on the water, stopping to watch wildlife coming down to drink as you glide serenely downstream, or hopping out for a quick exploration whenever an interesting animal or plant catches the guide’s eagle eye. Please note that guests paddle their own canoes, so a reasonable amount of fitness is required. Due to water levels, this safari is only available between August and October.
The Selinda Reserve is one of Africa’s great wildlife reserves. Part of the Great Plains Conservation project, spearheaded by National Geographic photographers and filmmakers Derek and Beverley Joubert. Selinda borders Linyanti to the East and the Kwando reserve to the North. The Selinda Spillway is a usually dry channel that connects the Linyanti river system to the Okavango. On the rare occasion that these channels connect, Selinda springs to life with a game density that is hard to beat anywhere.
